Donald Ray "Chief" Hood age 62 of Kingston passed away Sunday November 3, 2013 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He attended Potters House Fellowship. A Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, presently worked at Roane County Court House as a Court Officer. Former Roane County Chief Deputy, Captain of the Rescue Squad and employee of TVA, worked in the Emergency Management Field and active member of the Defender's LEMC. Preceded in death by father Thomas Hood, mother Marie Hood Proctor, step-father Russell Proctor and mother in law Mary Elizabeth Woody.

Survivors include:
Wife of 32 years Debbie Hood of Kingston;
Son Donald Ray Hood, Jr. (Kelly) of White Bluff, TN;
Daughter Ashley Smith (Kevin) of Kingston;
Granddaughter Emerson Elizabeth Smith;
Sister Carolyn Burton of Dickson;
Father in law Don Woody of Kingston;
Brother in law Mike Woody (Dottie) of Kingston;
Nieces, nephews and many cherished family and friends that he loved.

Funeral 8pm Friday November 8, 2013 in the Kyker Chapel with Rev. Kyle Beverly officiating. Burial 2pm Saturday at the Kingston Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Potters House Africa Feeding 319 Roddy Lane Harriman, TN. 37748 or Empowered Ministries Building Fund 1415 Highway 70E Dickson, TN. 37055. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8pm Friday at the Kyker Funeral Home in Kingston.
